Ambassador Project

The Ambassador Project is a visionary program designed to empower leaders within organizations and the community. By becoming ambassadors, individuals embark on a journey to inspire community involvement and spiritual growth. Ambassadors serve as catalysts for change, reaching out to both internal and external community members to invite them to participate and play the Golden Rule Games and ultimately become involved in the UBCL. Motivated by personal faith, organizational growth, and a desire to strengthen intergenerational connections, ambassadors play a pivotal role in nurturing a vibrant Christian community within their organization.

Ambassadors and participants are given the tools and platform to bring people into their organization within their local communities, churches, and groups. Ambassadors are catalysts for the games and the league. By organizing local clubs, leagues, and teams, the UBCL is a great new tool to bring in more people into their organization and get them involved. This role is perfect for those looking to enhance their organizational and leadership skills while making a positive impact on their community. Ambassador's Guide: Getting Started with The UBCL

1. Secure a Venue: Find a suitable place for regular gameplay, such as a classroom, church meeting room, or any location with multiple tables. Ensure it’s available on a regular basis for the times you set for playing. 2. Schedule Consistent Playtimes: Establish regular, recurring playtimes—similar to a sports league. For example, Thursday nights at 7 PM, Wednesday afternoons at 1 PM, or Monday mornings at 10 AM. Consistency is crucial for building momentum and maintaining participation. 3. Recruit Participants: Begin inviting people to sign up for your scheduled time slots. If others want to host games at different times, encourage them to do so. If you can’t attend, ensure they report their scores to you so you can submit them to the UBCL for ranking and tournament eligibility. 4. Expand Membership: Strive to recruit as many participants as possible. Involve your organization's leadership, such as pastors or group heads, to gain their support in encouraging maximum involvement. Highlight both the spiritual and financial benefits that the UBCL offers. 5. Organize Leagues: Create a variety of leagues to attract diverse participants. Consider options such as kids' leagues, men's leagues, women's leagues, couples’ leagues, or team leagues. Offering a wide range of options ensures greater engagement and inclusivity. The more variety, the better the engagement. 6. Promote UBCL Registration: Encourage participants to register with the UBCL to gain access to the full range of benefits: website access, league membership, eligibility for UBCL-sponsored tournaments, and the opportunity to compete for the World Title, both for themselves and your organization. 7. Recruit Mentors: Find mentors to help the guide youth, lead games, form teams, and facilitate discussions on trivia questions. Mentors serve as spiritual leaders, bridging generational gaps, fostering fellowship, and providing strategic advice to give players the best chance of success in their spirituality and tournaments. 8. Ensure Game Availability: Make sure you have enough games to accommodate a full house. Creating a lively and festive atmosphere will enhance the experience. If possible, provide refreshments or ask your organization for a budget to offer snacks and drinks or seek out sponsorships from outside organizations to help with this. You might occasionally hold potlucks or dinners sponsored by the league or other groups. Encourage local groups or sponsors to set up booths during game time for literature, fundraising, or merchandise sales. 9. Foster Fellowship: Build a sense of community by offering meals or refreshments before or after gameplay. Start and conclude game play with a prayer and set aside 10 minutes before and after each session for Q&A time, where mentors or pastors can discuss how trivia questions apply to everyday life or provide spiritual insight and guidance. Schedule back-to-back sessions, for example, have a 7pm and 8 pm session creating opportunities for fellowship between session players and to give booth vendors more time to engage with participants to make it worth their time and effort for coming. Remember it’s about building community strength as much as anything else. 10. Encourage Team Spirit: Promote camaraderie by forming teams and naming them, if possible, suggest creating custom team shirts, this is where sponsorship comes into the picture. Organizations such as businesses could be approached by the team leader for promotional garb for the team members to wear and or to help pay for team members to become members of the UBCL with an agreement to promote their business or if the team members win, donate some of the winnings to the sponsors chosen charity in the sponsors’ name. This will help build unity and add a fun element of identity to your leagues. These sponsors could also be asked to have a booth set up once during the season. If there are a lot of sponsors, then keep them on a rotational basis to keep the festive atmosphere fresh every week. 11. Organize League Seasons: Set distinct start and end dates for your league, leading up to an in-house final tournament. This should align with the start of the "Iron Sharpens Iron" UBCL tournament series. Ambassadors may also organize local tournaments, assist in qualifying winners for regional events, and ultimately, the World Tournament. 12. Host Challenges and Competitions: Consider organizing competitions or challenges against other clubs in your area. These can be for various causes, such as supporting a specific charity or any other initiative you deem important. These friendly competitions can strengthen relationships between clubs and foster a greater sense of community. 13. Reach Out for Support: We're here to help you succeed! We're here to help you every step of the way! Contact us for tips and resources, such as advice on hosting tournaments, seeding round-robin matches, and table assignments. For tournaments with 500 or more participants, coordinate with us in advance, and we may be able to attend and enhance the event with merchandise tents, food trucks, bake sales, guest speakers, and an information booth for UBCL sign-ups. You might also set up a spiritual tent with local pastors available for guidance and prayer. This is an excellent opportunity for community leaders and pastors to show support and shepherd their congregations. Consider holding the tournament alongside a church festival or community fair. By following these steps, you’ll be on your way to building a strong and successful UBCL community within your organization. Your efforts will not only strengthen your group but also offer spiritual enrichment and fellowship for all who participate.
